One of the things that bug me the most about modern western civilization is it’s obsession with linearity - with epic beginnings (big bang, startups etc.) and epic endings (fear of death, movies about the end of the world, saving the world etc.) Everything seems to be about starting and finishing. There is also an obsession with 'changing the world', while very little attention goes to 'keeping the ever-changing world'.
In order to give kids a slightly more balanced perspective, I wanted to create an endless story that focuses on interconnectedness, circularity and flow in all things. I hope the story will foster conversations between kids and their parents about how death is a part of life and how everything is constantly changing and evolving in this wonderful world. I hope these kids will grow up less afraid of death and more aware of the beautifully interconnected world, of which they are a natural and integral part.
